Assuming you’ve read the title, you probably already know what this post is about – snow!
It seems quite early for snow – after all, it was summer just two weeks ago! (approximately). And now it seems like we’ve been thrown into the depths of winter!
Where I live it’s already snowed more than twice. Crazy! In fact, as I write this it’s snowing. I have a difficult relationship with snow – sometimes I love the soft fluffy sky-flakes, and sometimes I wish they’d go away. As of right now, I’m in love with them. The enchantment of the first few snowfalls hasn’t worn off yet.
My cat, Frank, is enthralled by the light snowfalls so far, but hasn’t yet tried to escape outside due to the fact that whenever he puts his furry paw on the threshold to the outdoors he immediately draws it back. He’s an indoor cat for sure! It’s way too cold for him.
However, our other cat Emmett, desperately wants to go outside. He doesn’t care whether it’s freezing outside or blazing hot – he always wants to explore. Sometimes I pick him up and hold him outside but that doesn’t quite satisfy him.
Olivia, our dog is allowed outside whenever she likes but she’s actually a bit of a wimp. When she’s in our backyard, she’ll lift up on paw to keep it warm, then another, until we let her inside.
The guinea pigs probably don’t even know that winter exists, so I can’t say much about them.
As for me, I’m enjoying the chill so far. We’ll see how long that lasts!
